Mentoring, Leading and Teaching … and The All-Important …“Why”
We all experience very similar patterns as we experience life and it all starts early in life. We all start with … that little 4 letter word .. “fear” – basically it’s “the fear of the unknown”.
We all need a little push now and then, especially the first time we try something. This happened when I was learning to skate at a young age, I got a little push from my mom to get going, – but I fell, I got back up – I fell again, this repeated a few times until I was able to go a bit farther before falling yet again – eventually I learned to skate.. And in this case my mom was my mentor and teacher.
When you think about it everything is really just a process towards success and achievement. When you think about it – I mean really think about it our minds are wired for success … many of us just don’t realize this as we go through life.
This is why mentoring, leading and teaching others is so very important. It helps people understand the processes to take in order for things to be easier and simplified for us. We really require the guidance of others who have went in before us.
Mentors offer encouragement, some guidance and then a little push. Then there is repetition, repetition because it is the mother of skill and this all leads towards success. Once you achieve some success you will build a little confidence – then you will eventually establish a strong “Why”. This ‘why’ is something at your core wants and desires, and that is something that is important in order for you to achieve success.
Going back to the skating lesson – my ‘why’ at the core was as simple as not falling and getting a sore butt, I gained my confidence by repeating the skill and accomplishing the feat of skating – the equivalent to success.
Too many times people rely on motivation and discipline alone. These are good but without mentor-ship and teaching along with a strong why then quite often procrastination will set in.
Encouragement, a nudge and repetition creates learning and skill. Defining your core “why” is the driving force that creates consistency. Without a strong why the process will always break down. For any that may experience inconsistent action or self-sabotage then you maybe don’t know your “why”? If you don’t …find it … and you are golden. Also find yourself a mentor who is willing to lead and teach and guide you.
In today’s world there are opportunities to earn as we learn which in turn creates success one step at a time. On that note there are some excellent mentoring and training opportunities within programs that are designed to help motivated people achieve extraordinary success while earning additional income that help them achieve their wants and desires, while being mentored and taught along the way.
For instance I work with a membership program that have many members from USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America and South America. We even have a member that lives in Sweden within the program. As long as you have a computer and access to the internet, you can also take part in the program.
